*Due to high demand Stretcher Making bookings are currently made using a sign up sheet located on the Preparation Room door. Please contact darren.munce@unimelb.edu.au with any concerns.* Includes inductions and training on the safe use of the timber guillotine, pneumatic underpinner and pneumatic staple gun which all required to in the process of stretching of a canvas over a frame. First year BFA Painting students are supplied materials to make a 50x40cm canvas as part of their curriculum. Students from other departments please supply your own materials or purchase from the Visual Art Materials Shop prior to training. All previously trained students are required to have their skills annually reviewed by technical staff prior to using the timber guillotine, underpinner, pneumatic staple guns or MES hotplate. Please ensure you have all your materials and are ready to use the machines. Also, for any student who feels their skills using the above machines would benefit from a little bit of assistance.Preparation Room Induction
Book a 20 minute Preparation Room Workshop induction. Please meet in the Preparation Room (Room 2.23) located in the Painting Department, Building 874 Level 1.
